Thai International Airlines will get you from London to Sydney – eventually. They run out of Heathrow airport with a 747. It takes about 6 hours to get to Bangkok, where there’s a sit-about for a couple hours until you board the next plane for the real trip…

Day Tripping with Claire

There’s a real advantage when your girlfriend is a club singer at night. You get at least half the day to pal around.

And London is a great place to set up a home base to tour from. The Womballs have a flat we can crash in (they’ve been renting it as a place to sleep off the previous night’s drinking) or wash up in if the day is running late. And, of course, when Claire has a couple of free nights in a row, we head back to the B&B to stay with her parents.
