Mardi Gras Recap

What’s the quote?

But, Mousie, thou art no thy lane,
In proving foresight may be vain;
The best-laid schemes o’ mice an’ men
Gang aft agley,
An’ lea’e us nought but grief an’ pain,
For promis’d joy!

Dead at One

Little George, my father’s namesake and my nephew, is dead. His birthday was Sunday, October 10th. I sent him a card the beginning of last week because I was worried about mail service between Mexico City and Richmond, VA. He made it to one year and one day. Continue reading

But I agreed to talk to anyone who called about the business and I don’t want to be a rude guest. Continue reading

Cops On My Case

Back in Tulsa and something weird happened. I was driving the rental (which has Virginia plates) on the expressway that runs between Tulsa and Oklahoma City. The usual — I’m going the speed limit, jammin’ on some tunes (this is a Lexus and has a great sound system). Anyhow I get pulled over by the State Troopers. No big deal, except it’s 2 in the morning and I’d just as soon get back to apartment. Continue reading
